Callirhoe - the Poppy Mallows

I have absolutely no idea why everyone doesn’t grow the poppy mallows – maybe they're just too colourful?

Intense shocking pink mallow flowers are produced throughout the summer on long trailing leafy stems that can be made to decorate other plants that have finished for the year.

The stems do not root so it is not invasive. It dies back to a compact rootstock in autumn. Totally hardy and long-lived. The one in the picture has been where it is since I started the nursery 12 years ago.

A really lovely soft bicolor pink version with perhaps more narrowly lobed leaves.

First time I've grown this and I'm extremely taken with it. If it's as tough and long-lived as the species it'll be an absolute winner.
