Ruellia strepens

There are a number of hardy Ruellia from the eastern USA – all with showy mauve flowers on bushy plants. This one seems particularly good with rich violet funnel-shaped flower and fresh green foliage. 

Seems very adaptable (unfazed by December 2023) and easy to grow. Should be much better known.
